Fundamental Movements

The pupils in our school participated in a foundations programme to improve children’s fundamental movement skills recently.  This programme was not sport specific but will enhanced the ability of all participants and helped with the basic building blocks of movement that are an essential part of everyday life and also for recreational activities.  Fundamental movement skills are very important in the physical development of a child. When a child is confident with these skills, they can develop sport-specific and complex movement skills that allow them to excel in sport and physical activity.Children really enjoyed this programme.  Many thanks to the Atlantic Community Sports Hub and Joe Garrihy for facilitating.
