Our school organizes an Active School Week each year, usually in the first week of June.
It is a well-planned action-packed programme which is accessible to all and is a highlight of the year for the children.
During Active School Week tracksuits replace uniforms and physical activities replace written homework.
The school organizes a teacher vs. sixth class pupil’s basketball match.
Local clubs and physical providers give taster sessions.
Our Teddy Bear Walk takes place during this week. The whole school walks to the local Spa Wells with teddy bears in tow. It’s a fun filled, light hearted tradition in our school and of course is based around walking.
We are able to make full use of our local amenities, pitch, astro turf and playground to promote physical activity in a cross curricular way.
Active School Week 2024 was a major success with lots of new games and activities introduced.
June 2024 was the beginning of St. Enda’s annual Championship. Children from 3rd to 6th Class participate in dodgeball and beachball games in mixed teams. Our arranged quarter finals lead to semi finals and ultimately the final where the victors emerge. Needless to say Championship gets the adrenaline pumping and promotes comradery between all the age groups.
We can’t wait to see what Active Week 2025 will bring.
St. Enda’s Championship has definitely become a highlight of Active Week.
A big thank you, as always, to Emmett from Broadway Dance Academy for showing us some cool dance move during our hip hop class.
Each class participates in unique and exciting relay races which always provide such laughter.
We look forward to our Teddy Bear Walk every year. It is a tradition in St. Enda’s N.S. providing nostalgia, while exercising, for all.
