Burren Field Trip

The children from 4th, 5th and 6th class all went on a Burren field trip. Fossil and shell hunting at Flaggy Shore was followed by a delicious Linalla ice-cream each (and one for the teachers too!).

Moving on, the children explored Corcomroe Abbey, looking at all the secrets hiding in plain sight in a stunning Burren monument, and investigating family names and stories found in the surrounding graveyard. On the way home a quick visit to Newtown Castle finished off the day before a bus trip back up the Corkscrew Hill to Lisdoonvarna just in time for home time.

We were so impressed with the beauty and history that is on our doorstep. Thank you to Ms Lavendar for her expertise and the numerous interesting facts she shared with us.
