2nd and 3rd class have been very busy learning all about fruits and vegetables since we came back to school. We are taking part in the Incredible Edible programme this year which encourages children to learn more where our food comes from, children have been learning all about the process from farm to fork. We found it really interesting learning all about the Bord Bia quality mark and took some photos of this when we were out doing our grocery shopping. The weather was in our favour and we got to make the most of the sunshine outside and have planted a variety of carrots, spinach, lettuce, chives, strawberries, potatoes and turnips. They are being carefully watered and monitored by our plant monitors each day.
Healthy Eating week is in May and we hope to sample some of our produce and make some tasty healthy treats in the classroom and at home.
